What makes working at L&L fun, interesting, and engaging?

Employment law is a particularly relevant area of law for everyone: from teenagers in their first part-time job to the CEO of a large multinational. At Labour & Law, you gain unique insight into this practice. The wide range of clients we support gives me a unique opportunity to develop both professionally and academically. As a paralegal at Labour & Law, you’re right in the thick of it and learn the ins and outs of employment law in no time.

What is your vision, drive, and mentality when advising and assisting a lawyer or the organization?

Efficiency is essential to me – but true efficiency only occurs when my support seamlessly aligns with the working methods of the lawyer I’m working with. After all, everyone has their own preferences and methods. That’s why I believe that good collaboration starts with getting to know each other, so we can perfectly complement each other. Flexibility and quick thinking are essential in this regard. My goal is to work as a waiter in a luxury restaurant: you’ll enjoy a pleasant evening, occasionally have a friendly chat, but barely notice what I do behind the scenes to make that experience possible – everything will flow naturally.

What is your strength?

My greatest strengths are my perseverance, eagerness to learn, and curiosity. It’s also a powerful combination of qualities to have: not only do I thoroughly enjoy discovering and learning new things, but I also want to truly master the knowledge and skills I’ve acquired and apply them effectively. I also see this reflected in my studies and work: do it right, or don’t do it at all.

Is there something we don’t know about you that would be interesting to share? A surprising hobby, for example.

I’m fascinated by people: their history, their ideas about the world, and their social interactions. That’s why I’m an avid reader, but I get just as much pleasure from art – in all its forms. I also enjoy being creative myself, as an artist, graphic designer, and writer. Fun fact: Before enrolling in law at the University of Amsterdam, I’d first applied to an art program in The Hague. I’m also a huge motorsports fan and enjoy the go-kart track.
